A wide range of institutions in Ireland provide third-level education (higher education). Higher education in Ireland is provided mainly by Universities, Institutes of Technology, and Colleges of Education. In addition, a number of other third level institutions provide specialist education in different fields. The university sector, the technological sector and the colleges of education are substantially funded by the State. In addition, there are a number of independent private colleges.
The Higher Education Authority is the statutory agency responsible for the funding of universities, institutes of technology and certain other higher education institutions. It has an advisory role in relation to the whole sector of third-level education. These institutions offer a wide range of opportunities in post-secondary courses, vocational and technical training, degree and post-graduate programs.

Undergraduate course fees: €7,000 - €10,000 per year (Diploma programs)
Postgraduate course fees: €8,500 - €13,500 per year (Masters programs)

International students who wish to study in the Republic of Ireland must prove their English language aptitude. An IELTS, TOEFL, ESOL or other English proficiency exams scores is required for admission and visa.
International Students can expect to earn substantially to support their living expenses during their studies in Ireland. Students who enroll for a study program in Ireland are eligible to work part time for up to 20 hours per week during the period and up to 40 hours per week during the holidays. Persons who qualify under Graduate Scheme will be granted one non-renewable extension to their current student permission for a one year period starting on the date upon which the person receives their exam results. The purpose of the permission to remain under this Scheme is to seek employment and gain a Green Card or Work Permit. After 1 year extension, students can work with registered Irish Employer who will issue employment permit or Green Card Permit for 2 years.
